About

Who am I?
Isn't that a good question? Who am I? I believe this is a question that we can all benefit from answering for ourselves from time to time.

Here is my answer for you:
I am a Certified Professional Life Coach committed to supporting people in creating and living a life that is much MORE than 'fine'.

I have had my own journey of finding what that more than fine is for me. It started many years ago, when my 'searching' nature surfaced. I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my older brother going through the college catalog page by page, looking for the perfect major for myself. I've had lots of searches since then--the search for the perfect place to live, the perfect mate, the perfect job and career, the perfect employer, the perfect life...the perfect me.

My searches have led me to a very rich, interesting and stimulating life, including a few career changes and refinements, going back to school in my 30s to earn my MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and adding a further dimension, my coaching certification (CPC) in my 40s. I've also lived abroad in 2 different countries for a total of 17 years--giving me a sense of adaptability, and an openness, curiosity and appreciation of people in general as well as a great deal of experience with transitions, learning to trust myself and with finding my place no matter where I am geographically.

I have taught language at the university level and extensively in business environments--supporting and inspiring people in all age groups and differing backgrounds. Inspiration is the key word here as it has always been the best part of my jobs--finding ways to truly connect and to help people see their own strengths.

I worked for 8 years at a training company where I went from a freelance language consultant position to being the manager of the language department and a member of the management team--using my organization skills and structure to run large projects and my people skills to lead a team effectively. And when it comes to work and career, through many changes and transitions, I have learned the difference between doing something because I 'should' or because it seems to make sense and doing it because it gives me energy and a true sense of contribution and purpose.

Through all the experiences above, I was still searching...for that perfect thing to make my life and more importantly, me, perfect. Nothing was quite enough and although I was relatively happy and things were essentially 'fine', there was most often a faint feeling of discontent. There was something missing and I was searching for the answer.

I would say that I am still searching. But through my own journey of exploration and discovery, my searches have changed. I now realize that nothing is missing and that I have everything I need to live the life I want to live now--I have found that MORE that I was always looking for. So my searches now come from a sense of curiosity and the love of growth, discovery and exploration and not from a place of discontent, desperation or the need to fill a hole. And I can say, this is SO much more than 'just fine'.

All the experiences in my life have made me who I am and have given me all that I have to offer in coaching others--strength, support, encouragement, resourcefulness, compassion, inspiration. But it is the shift in my searches that has allowed me to be the true me--to be living that MORE. I am committed to living my life in this way and to being a traveling companion for others ready to find their own version of MORE and live their lives fully and vibrantly.

Now it's your turn. I ask you...Who are YOU?
